Ammonia

Ammonia is a naturally occurring compound in water, produced through the decomposition of organic matter and as a by-product of biological processes. While small amounts are typically harmless, elevated concentrations can be toxic to aquatic ecosystems, posing significant risks to fish and other aquatic life. In humans, excessive exposure can harm internal organs and affect overall health.

Applications Include:

  • Monitoring residual ammonia in drinking water
  • Measuring ammonia in wastewater
  • Assessing levels in industrial effluent
  • Tracking runoff at landfill sites

Approvals

Ammonia/ammonium analysers are available with ATEX certification for hazardous environments.

Communication Outputs Include:

  • 0/4–20 mA analogue outputs
  • Digital outputs (relay, PNP, NPN)
  • HART, Profibus DP, MODBUS, and I/O Link protocols
