Conductive Level Switches
Conductive level switches operate by detecting the presence or absence of a conductive liquid within a process. These switches consist of coated metal rods or electrodes that, when in contact with a conductive liquid, complete an electrical circuit. The conductivity of the liquid triggers a signal, indicating the level change. This technology is commonly used for simple, reliable level detection in liquids such as water, acids, and other conductive solutions. The metal rods are typically coated to prevent corrosion and ensure long-term durability in harsh environments.

Applications include

  • Run-dry protection for pumps to prevent damage caused by the absence of liquid
  • Level limits in sumps, tanks, or silos to ensure safe operation and prevent overfilling or dry running
  • Monitoring of process liquids in industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, and water treatment

Certifications include

  • ATEX certification for use in explosive atmospheres
  • EAC Ex certification for compliance with Eurasian safety standards
  • SIL (Safety Integrity Level) compliance for safety-critical applications

Output Options include

  • Digital outputs (relay, PNP, NPN) for integration with control systems
