Open-Channel Flow Measurement
Measurement in open channels depends on the specific application. Solutions can involve the use of ultrasonic level sensors, radar devices, laser devices, or pressure sensors. Depending on the requirements, these sensors can be mounted above the channel or within the channel. All suitable controllers offer the capability to log data for analysis or to meet regulatory requirements.
Solutions for partially filled pipes are more limited; however, Processplus has extensive experience in providing effective options. These solutions can be installed inside the pipe or through the pipe wall. Options are available for both clean water and dirty water applications.
Applications Include: measuring flow through water channels with fixed dimensions where a damming effect can be introduced. These dams may include V-Notch Weirs, Rectangular Weirs, and Flumes.
