Fault Resolution 

Our Mechanical Engineers are called upon to assist in fault resolution where process instruments have been indicating an irregular measurement reading.

Whilst on a recent site verification visit a crucial flowmeter was identified as reporting a fault. The Mechanical Engineers identified there was damage to the liner and no gasket had been fitted indicating that the initial install was sub-standard.

Eventually over a period of time the damage to the flowmeter liner and the lack of a gasket allowed water ingress causing the wiring to fail.

It was also noted that the process build up within the flowmeter was effecting the performance and measurement in this location.

If the end user had signed up to our regular maintenance service contract the checks involved would have highlighted the issues earlier and avoided operation downtime.
