Successful Instrument upgrade on waste water treatment works.Related Products
Processplus were recently asked to modernise the waste water treatment works at an exclusive hotel and country club on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The work involved a complete upgrade of all instrumentation at the works.
After our initial site survey, we provided a detailed quotation which included flow measurements at the inlet and outlet of the works, sludge level monitors at the RBC and primary settlement tanks, and suspended solids level monitoring at the final settlement tank.
Upon considering the process requirements, we decided to offer Siemens for the flow measurement and Partech for the suspended solids and sludge level measurements.
We prepared RAMs and method statements for approval. Our engineers then attended site to commence works. Upon inspection of the existing cable we decided to install new cables to each instrument. The controllers for each instrument were installed in the MCC control room and linked back to an online data logger.
Our commissioning engineer attended site to configure instrument set-points and alarms. We also calibrated the suspended solids instrument using our spectrometer.
We programmed the web interface for the data logger to show each instrument reading, allowing real-time remote access. Control of each instruments set-points and alarms are also changeable remotely.
Processplus have offered an annual maintenance contract to ensure the longevity of the instruments.
